Balsamic with my Strawberries?

Floriana grabbed my attention once I learned of their lasagna, If you know one thing about me, it is that I am obsessed with lasagna and finding a place in DC that doesn't fxck it up too bad is almost impossible. The ambiance was so nice, I love to be able to hear the clinking of glasses and quiet chatter over a dimly lit dinner. The service was outstanding, The host was very nice and the waiter, very knowledgeable. The lasagna was alright.... but the dessert!.......

This was an interesting twist on a strawberry shortcake, whipped cream and strawberry's sitting atop golden brown slices of cake finished with balsamic glaze. The idea of the dessert was to combine sweet + tart but the aftertaste of the balsamic glaze was so pronounced that it took away from everything else. I wasn't too too impressed with this dessert which is why I had to add this baby to the shit list!
