"Prather's on the alley"

After hearing about a pop-up dining experience during mercury’s infamous retrograde, I became reluctant to go. I fantasized that something chaotic would happen, like a waiter slipping and dropping food that lands precisely in my lap lol idk, just one of the many thoughts running through my mind when there’s a retrograde taking place, but after reading that the curated menu would only be available for one night ( and Dream Girls “One night only” began to play in my head) I convinced myself that I had to go!

After arriving a little earlier than expected, the foodie in me decided to order something from the brunch menu in addition to sticking around for the pop-up.

For starters, you guys know we had to kick this experience off with mimosas, you can opt for a single glass for $13 orrrr you can order a whole bottle with OJ for $26! Of course we took advantage of the bottle deal, because we’re all about smart spending here at F+M+F! After mimosas, my guest decided to try something new and exciting while I ended up asking for something sweet. It turns out that this specific mix-up was sworn to satisfy both of our needs, wooing consumers with its lingering chocolate aroma.

Beholddd finally an alcoholic beverage inspired by the infamous Green Tea Matcha, Silky yet soft and creamy, and truly the highlight of my evening, I lost track of how many of these we ordered forgetting that alcohol was ever in it. I couldn’t help but to tell other diners about it, labeling this drink a “Must Try”.

“Duck Hash” featuring Duck confit, crispy potatoes, onions, harissa aioli, and duck eggs. So scrumptiously savory that my guest inhaled it before I got to try any! So I did the same with the Carbonara I ordered, you can catch that beauty in action on our instagram.

Featured on the Pop-Up Menu curated by Chef Tim Ma and Mel Aguilar we have “Green on Green” which I should’ve order 6 of as my pestering sister took one while I raved to a friend about how good they were. The most amazing dumplings I’ve ever had the pleasure of snacking on! After this experience I vowed to never touch another dumpling again if they aren’t prepared exactly like these ! Made up of sour cabbage, andouille sausage, chinese chives, in a pea puree sauce surrounded by a pool of chili sesame oil…. such a complex dish! So complex thatPrathers on the alleyhas made their way straight to our list of culinary orgasms.

For my peeps who couldn’t wait to hear about what I wore you’ve made it!! I decided to wear a satin dress ( in 100 degree weather), with colorful rhinestone drop earrings and slim purple shades, Take it from me, nooooo satin or silk during DC’s humid summers!!!!

I tied this look together with a pair of colorful snake print sandals from simmi, print and pops of color are all the girls want right now, so i’ve compromised and decided on giving it to them, the F+M+F Way.
