F+M+F Spring Edition
For the first time ever here at “Foodmeatsfashion” we have 2 restaurants joining the list of culinary orgasms at the same time! This experience is based around my favorite season SPRING!!! The time of year where it isn’t to hot or too cold, the sun comes out to play, flowers are in full bloom and best of all, restaurants add new menu items lol
First up we have La Vie, a Mediterranean establishment located at the DC wharf. I decided to try it out after spotting the cherry blossom decor in the lobby.
Growing up in DC the arrival of the the cherry blossoms have always been a big deal, one that oddly I’ve never participated in. Riding the metro I always thought that the cherry blossom stickers placed on the entrance gate were exactly what the cherry blossoms would look like. It wasn’t until last year that I realized I had been walking past them most of my life and never noticed that they were the infamous “cherry blossoms”.
What has attracted me the most has been the definition behind them. In Japanese culture they represent the fragility and beauty of life, after saying farewells to so many people this year, the blossoms didn’t allow me to walk past them this time, they simply reached out and embraced me and I must say that I enjoyed every moment I got to spend with them.
While enjoying the beautiful cherry blossom photo booth of course I had to try out some of the menu items, the Baklava waffles were to die for, with shavings of walnuts, cutlets of fruit, dollops of whipped mascarpone over a brown buttered glaze.
Next up we have Circa!!! I finally made it guys and with this time without any issues! And boy oh boy did I underestimate them by walking in without any expectations whatsoever. This was truly an experience I am still talking about to this day! Want to catch me in action? Meet me at Circa Navy Yard location every weekend for an “Eat” and “Greet” i’m so serious lol that’s how good the food is.
Here at FMF you know that we are always down for a whole bottle of sparkle, this particular bottle happened to be a Lambrusco wine, please note that as our waiter started to pour it my mood went from happy to sad, I am terrified of red wines because they are usually too bitter or too dry for me but my boyfriend swore that I would like it , and what do you know… he was so right! Bold yet creamy, I almost chugged the whole bottle alone.
I was more than happy to bring in my birthday at Circa’s Navy Yard location, the customer service was out of this world and the food was Mmm Mmm GOOD!!! If you’ve noticed I’ve been trying to wear more color lately.. You can call it a mood swing lol I’ve been so into the pops of colors that have graced the SS19 runways. Next up I think i’ll try a Aspen Gold… before transitioning back to my signature color.. BLACK!!!
