My taste buds are in celebration of the flavors they’ve experienced over at Kitchen Cray Cafe ! I must say I was definitely torn between raving about it and keeping it to myself lol. The menu is ridiculously exciting! Plates that tickle your soul and make you wonder what you’ve been eating all of these years.

After stumbling upon tickets for a pop up brunch located in Lanham MD that offers bottomless mimosas (checkkk) and three courses for $45, I decided to do a little bit more research before I rolled the dice and purchased tickets. As you know I am always down for a Brunch but after reading Chef James Robinson’s story I felt compelled to go. The dishes offered on the menu were mind blowing, the whole ride there all that I could think about were those damn deviled eggs! Once seated for the first time in history I didn’t go straight for the mimosas, instead I placed my ordered and waited impatiently for the eggs to hit the table. I could hear the angels singing as the waiter walked in slow motion towards our table. I swear I left a saliva puddle on the floor as I panted, watching the beautiful eggs make their grand entrance! The moment I waited for was finally in front of me and I couldn’t wait to reach out and grab it. The crispiest deep fried chicken tossed in Mumbo sauce on top of a deviled egg…YES!!!! It was just as good as the pictures!

Next up we tried The Fish and Grits… My mouth thanked me a million times after diving into this savory delight. Fried fish over creamy jalapeño cheddar grits and cajun garlic cream. The addition of the garlic cream is where I lost my mind. This dish, packed with texture, yet so smooth, so silky, that I mourned the thought of finishing it.

For dessert we ordered both the Peach Cobbler and Rum Cake, The peach cobbler suffered a tragic death at the hands of my guest and was unforunately, unable to be photographed! This beauty called up her friends vanilla ice cream, lightly whipped cream and caramel for this aromatic party on a plate and I must say that I was here for every bit of it. Kitchen Cray! Welcome to my list of Culinary Orgasms.
