This Thai Dessert is perfect for summer, a sweet toe curling surprise for the taste buds. The fresh mango and glutinous rice bask in the creaminess of the coconut milk.

Wild Berry
"A sweet surprise". This beautifully decorated crepe was tucked so tight there was no way you could guess the surprise on the inside of it. Fresh strawberries, and a scoop of strawberry ice cream jumped from behind the crepe'd curtain finished with roasted almonds, raspberry sauce and powdered sugar.....fucking amazing!

Tres Leches
Three different milks they say? Well that's three layers of experience to me. This beauty has me salivating as I type. What a scrumptious way to wrap up such an amazing experience, with a succulent surprise floating in a sea of dulcified milk.

My Dirty Secret
This beautifully decorated establishment is located in what I like to call, "The cut". The perfect location so that it's never too crowded. I went during happy hour, the people were very social and the drinks were very good, but the highlight of the evening was the Oatmeal Whoopie. The dehydrated apple danced sensually with the cinnamon and butter cream. The aftertaste? Very mellow. Excitingly calming, This oatmeal treat is my best kept secret.

Tira miss you
The dish that broke my heart (in a good way lol). Made up of lady finger cookies and chocolate crunch pearls the Tiramisu at this establishment is to die for. As if that wasn’t enough, they threw in a few pieces of chocolate biscotti. You know in case you underestimated them. A coma is what I was sent into after going in for only a few scoops. Rich! You could taste the luxury! Which is why it broke my heart to have to finish it. Is it weird to miss a dish?

Mimosa
Since a child, I knew that Sunday's were reserved for nice weather (which is why I am still confused as to why my mom pushed me out in D.C.) and the slow sipping of Mimosa's. I can still hear myself telling my friends about how I wasn't supposed to be in school,If I had it my way I would to be at somebody's brunch every single day sipping mimosa's. I sipped this mimosa very slowly at Convivial this Sunday, and it was so good that I may have ordered another one!

Whoa, that's not ice cream
The floating island is what it's called, a mixture of poached meringue, creme anglaise, and caramelized almonds. The meringue tasted like the love child of whipped cream and marshmallow, light but sweet in taste, fluffy but silky in texture, the creme anglaise resembled melted vanilla ice cream all topped with caramelized almonds providing a delicate crunch. Long story short, I C R U S H E D!
And for those who may not know what crushed means...
( I ate all of it, inhaled it, devoured it etc.)

A little pick me up
I'll have the Tiramisu! This italian treat was packed with only the boldest flavors, topped with a strawberry to sweeten it up a little more, espresso joins cocoa to provide a quick burst of energy that simmers down after the rum kicks in. The inside was delicately sweet, creating an unforgettable flavor combination.

"Forest Gnocchi"
What a beautiful presentation. I had a hard time beginning to pick up my spoon. So beautiful I found it disrespectful to enjoy. Made up of 4 key components: chocolate, orange, tarragon, and passion fruit, served with a black tea milk. The aroma? very pure, very appealing and once all mixed together the fragrance is instantly rewarding. The taste, MIND BLOWING. I was instantly soothed into submission.

"It's not Champagne its Cava"
This wine resembled champagne in many ways, but it was the after taste that had me banging my head on the table for more. Very complex, I could have sipped it forever. Crisp yet refreshing, the perfect way to end my night.

"City Sipping"
Growing up here in DC if there's anything I enjoy most about the city, its definitely the people. I usually try to grab a seat outdoors so that I can get a peek at whats going on out in the streets while dining, its so relaxing and who knows what you may see, I like to take it all in sitting court side with my legs crossed and a glass of champagne in hand. THE LIFE!

Peaches and Cream
Roasted Peaches sit alongside a Deconstructed cake, Granola crumbles and an Almond ice cream... first off can I just say wow! The way that the flavors blatantly mingle with the different texture of each ingredient boggles my mind. Closing my eyes, I was instantly swept into Autumn after the taste of the almond coated in granola overtook my senses. Scratch pumpkin THIS is the dessert we should be having come fall .

Somber afternoons
Sometimes I just need to clear my mind and focus, with everything that life throws at us, I find it necessary to set aside a day of wellness and just recharge my battery. We all need those days, we all need peace of mind, and sometimes you have to just head out and get it if you can't always find it at home. There's something so relaxing about watching others busy at their craft, the swift motions and care that they're pouring into what they're doing. I particularly enjoy sitting in kitchens, watching people do what they love and tasting that love afterwards lol. So the fact that Maketto offers kitchen seating is just amazing to me, you get to see how your food is being prepared before it hits your table. I enjoyed this glass of Rose' on a Monday afternoon, watching people do what they love, engulfed in uplifting conversations and putting caution to the wind. Focused on only the best things that life has to offer.

Spanish Custard
Confused with what this actually might be, I decided to throw caution to the wind and try it. Velvety Spanish custard with Catalan Cream and oranges sprinkled zest into my life, waking me up after a long day of work. I must say the whipped cream was the puurrrrfect addition, light but sweet and I could kiss the cook for such a beautiful presentation.

"The Spiced Balls"
The sweetest, softest piece of breaded goodness I've ever experienced in my life. Churro Balls finished with Chai Spiced sugar-dust and an orange dulce de leche glaze. I'm very weird about soggy breads, so no I did not drizzle the glazed perfection onto my balls (lol) I took pieces and dipped them into the sauce, I know such a girl but s t i l l fuckingggg phenomenal.

Green Tea Cake
I find it amazing how this tea-flavored treat actually tasted like the real thing! I live for a good tea, so when I saw that this establishment offered a tea flavored cake, I was all in. Green Tea, Rosemary, Roasted Pineapple and White Wine syrup make up what Cure Bar & Bistro calls the Green Tea Cake. This cake had a very distinctive taste, very green, very earthy topped with roasted pineapples then drizzled with white wine syrup playing off of the sweeter side.

3 types of delicious
On a quiet night, my pregnant co worker and I decided that we could both use a bite to eat before going in for the night. *Note* I said a bite, but my company had other plans. As we sat down to order I noticed my colleague ordered a considerable amount of items, which meant we would be there for a while but just when I thought she ordered everything the menu had to offer she starts asking for a list of desserts that weren't even mentioned on the menu.... at that exact moment I knew that she was heaven sent. A few laughs and lbs later out sashays 3 delicious treats, Matcha green tea ice cream, chocolate mousse' cake and a mango cake. I didn't know which one to go at first, so of course I ate in order from smallest to biggest lol. My first bite of the Matcha green tea ice cream was like heaven, the green tea was very light, My company called dibs on the whole chocolate cake but that was after I had my dig at the fluffy chocolate mousse'! And lastly the moist mango cake that I wanted to order again specifically for the ride home stole the show!
