Oh Olivia
Curious to see what establishment could’ve possibly taken the place of “NOPA” , I decided to give it a shot to see if it could live up to the same expectations. Imagine my surprise when I walked in the space, beautifully decorated, amazing natural lighting which is what i’m noticing that most of the establishments in this area are missing. A good Feng shui created in the space leaving the energy inviting, calm and uplifting. I didn’t feel rushed to finish my meal, in fact I dare you not to spend at least 2 hours here.
To set the mood of course a glass of bubbly was needed, Rose’ to be exact the perfect start to a somber yet sweet afternoon.
In case the Rose’ wasn’t enough, might I interest you in a sparkling glass of Lo Macabeo Chardonnay the perfect pairing for a such a perfect meal.
The house bread/ biscuit wasn’t at all lacking flavor, which instantly put my mind at ease, set in place to prepare diners for what they’ll be getting into.
I am here to announce that after trying the spicy whipped feta this experience was enough to make me drop my napkin from my lap and simply remove myself from within 50 feet of the restaurant after having avid thoughts of kidnapping the person responsible for such a complex dish. I wasn’t aware of how much I loved Feta until it was placed in front of me as a refreshingly zesty spread. It was at this moment that I realized, this chef doesn’t f*ck around. This silky party on a platter is made up of cucumber, feta, and jalapeno, served with crispy lavage coated in olive oil and spice. M M MMMMMMM!
My mouth has honestly never had the pleasure of meeting Dolmades before, so I couldn’t begin to think of what to expect. Once it hit the table I rolled it around a bit to see that the filling was secured safely inside of the Grape Leaves. After dipping one into the Avgolemono I proceeded to try one. Mid-chew I could taste the spiced beef and rice mix up, which slightly reminded me of my grandmothers lettuce wraps only these were a bit earthier and tasted a bit like corned beef hash the sauce added a lemon butter twist to it which I was quite pleased with.
The star of the evening was definitely the Coulotte Steak which was super crispy on the outside, however, when it came to the inside of the meat, the texture was a little inconsistent for medium-well. The buttery -sweet Greek- Style potatoes were my favorite part, indescribably invigorating and with the Avgolemono sauce and Mixed Greens this dish completely changed the perplexity of life, landing Olivia on our list of Culinary Orgasms!
